Prayer Guide for Parents
- Pray for parental wisdom: that they will know when to say "yes," and when to say "no"
- Pray that the parent(s) will be good role models for their children.
- Pray that the parent(s) will choose to spend quality [and quantity] time with their child(ren).
- Pray that God will supply the family's needs[$, time, food].
- Pray that the parent(s) will have a vibrant, growing relationship with God.
- Pray that the parent(s) will remain sexually pure and faithful.
- Pray that the parent(s) will become actively involved in a healthy faith community where the whole family can grow spiritually.
- Pray that the parent(s) will listen and understand their children [their needs, the world they live in, their joys and sorrows].
- Pray that each parent emotionally connects with their child(ren).
- Pray that the parent(s) will effectively pray for their child(ren).
- Pray that they will become Christlike in their use of time [with spouse, family, work, church, play, child's school].
- Pray that the parent(s) will teach the child(ren) to love, serve, and obey God.
- Pray that the parent(s) will not pass on to their child(ren) the negative things from their own childhood(s), but will get appropriate help.
- Pray that they will encourage and challenge their child(ren) to be all that they can be.
- Pray that the parent(s) will model forgiveness and reconciliation.
- Pray that they will be wise disciplinarians doing what is best.
- Pray for the relationship(s) between parent and child(ren) to grow strong, based on mutual love and respect.
- Pray that the parent(s) will express anger, frustrations, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
- Pray for the extended family of the child(ren), that they would move toward becoming more Christlike.
- Pray that the parent(s) will know how to talk to their child(ren) about sex, drugs, faith, moral choices, problems, disappointments.

- Pray for parental patience, wisdom, and flexibility in coping with the stresses of raising a family in today's world.

- Pray for the home environment: peace, beauty, music, love, safety.

- Pray that the parent(s) will make the sacrifices necessary to be the parent(s) that the child(ren) need.
- Pray that the parent(s) will model respect to those in authority.
- Pray that the parent(s) will know where to turn for help.
- Pray that the parent(s) and child(ren) will learn to talk about God in free and natural ways.
- Commit this home and family to the care and nurture of God; that God's holy and perfect will and purposes will be accomplished with this family.
